Choo Choo Bob's

I took Joe to Choo Choo Bob's Train Store in St. Paul today. He had so much fun watching the trains. They have 6 train tables to play with and lots of trains to buy. Joe watched the trains for about a half hour, he loved watching the train go thru the tunnel and figuring which way it was coming out.
They also have story time twice a week, which we will have to go to sometime soon. And they even have a tv show on the CW Saturday mornings at 6:30am.
Choo Choo Bob's is so much fun! We're already planning our next trip.

Splash Pad

(We got the digital camera to work, despite it being flooded!)
And we took Joe to Oak Hill Splash Park in St. Louis Park today since it was so hot! What a perfect spot for a picnic and little water fun!

Minnehaha Falls Park

*Minnehaha Falls*

*The surreys!*

We had a ton of fun today with our friends Angie & Brandon and their daugher, Ashlie. We all rode the train from Bloomington to Minnehaha Falls Park. We rented a surrey ($26/hour) that carried all 6 of us around the park. Now, these surreys may look like easy to manuever with 4 people pedaling, but it was hard! And it was so much fun! The kids had a great time sitting up front while we pedaled our hearts out up and down hills in the park. I would definitely do it again.

After all that pedaling we hiked a short distance into the park, past the waterfall, to find a small swimming area for the kids. Joe and Ashlie had a great time swimming. It was a perfect picnic spot, maybe we'll bring lunch next time.

We had so much fun, I can't wait to get to the park again. It's my new favorite place in the Twin Cities.

No Pics?

Well, it may be awhile before you see us in any more posts. Our digital camera was lost in what we're calling "The Kitchen Flood of '08". Joe flooded the kitchen with the sprayer attached to the ktichen sink. He just went to town hosing down the entire kitchen and some of the dining room. It was a wonderous mess which I'm sure he had a blast making. We hope to be back soon with more pics, so stay tuned.

Sunday Afternoon in the Park

*Having our picnic lunch*

*On his favorite thing - the tire swing!*

*He made it down the HUGE slide!*

*The playgruond is so big, I circled Joe in this pic!*

Joe and I took a picnic to the Hyland Park Play area today. He was a little nervous getting up so high to play, but still went down all the HUGE slides by himself. And, thankfully this time, I didn't have to climb up to get him!

Train in Arnolds Park

Joe loves watching this little clip of us riding the train in Arnolds Park, so I thought I'd share it with everyone.

Dancing

(Okay, I didn't know the video would post sideways, so just tilt your head for this one.) We went to Market Fest in Eagan tonight and we got Joe to show us his dance moves. He needs a little more practice...

Geo-Train

Dave took Joe for a ride on the Lite Rail, or as Joe likes to call it the "Geo-Train". He calls it that because it looks just like his Geo Trax train. He had lots of fun and wanted to ride it all day!

More Rides with a Date

Another fun day at MOA with some friends. Joe had fun going on rides with his friend Ashlie, but his favorite was riding the swings with Daddy.

4th of July

We spent the 4th of July waching the Eagan Funfest Parade. The biggest hits were the bagpipes and all the big, loud firetrucks. It was quite warm, but we outsmarted the sun by wearing our 50 spf sunscreen and nobody got sunburned!
Joe loved the fireworks at night. They shoot them off just blocks from our house, so we only had to walk across the street for the best view. Joe was giggling and talking the whole time while they were going off. We could also see other fireworks far away from the other cities. It was a very fun night.
